Hiking Southern Nevada by Branch Whitney and Huntington Press

Mt. Charleston Area

Distance: 1.75 miles – one way

Elevation Gain:    800 feet

Elevation Peak:    8,300 feet

Time:    1 hour

Difficulty:   2

Danger Level:    2

After leaving Mary Jane Falls trail, this route heads SW into a wash and ends at Big Falls.

Big Falls is the most spectacular waterfall in Mt. Charleston…

September 2004

This hike was a little more exciting that Mary Jane Falls because of the scrambling and route finding.  Ultimately I was disappointed again because of the absolute lack of water at the “falls”.
