60 Hikes within 60 miles: denver and boulder” by Kim Lipker

Along the river and through the woods to a beautiful lake you go. This is an exceptional hike that pleases all of the senses, from the thundering sound of water pouring from the dam, to the sparkling ripples of the lake, to the musky smell of shavings from the tree-thinning demonstration area. The variety of scenery, moderate pace, and longer length of this hike reward participants with a memorable outing.

This was a very pretty hike with lots of different scenery.  It looks like I missed an offshoot trail.  I guess I should read directions.
