William Frederick Hayden Park – North Access Trail

Posted by on July 27, 2016

William F. Hayden Park on Green Mountain offers a challenging system of multiple-use trails for all abilities. The trails tend to dry earlier than many of the foothills parks, making the park a fantastic winter destination.

The park trails include:

  • North Access Trail: 2 miles. This trail is accessed from Indiana Avenue and will be formalized in the near future.

This trail wasn’t terribly well marked and I’m glad I went up towards the middle of the park instead of the north side as I originally had planned because it was very steep on the way down.

Here’s the stats for this trip:

  • Distance: 4.1 miles
  • Time: 1:36:26 hours
  • Avg Speed: 2.6 mph
  • Starting Elevation: 6,141 ft
  • Elevation Gain: 835 ft

Here’s the pics:

I forgot my Garmin and had to draw this one out manually
