This nature center, located in downtown Houston, is picture perfect and should be used as template for nature centers across North America.  There were very informative maps, guided and self-guided tours, and was excellently maintained.  However, I prefer my nature without the constant noise pollution created by not one, but the two major interstates the center is planted beside.  I thought my Arlington experience had sufficiently lowered my expectations for a “hike” in Texas, but I was wrong.  This pathetic little trail system has no business inside one of the only two books I could find about hiking and this one even has backpacking in the title. Ridiculous!!!
