Trip 9 – Grand View Trail
Distance: 1.8 miles round trip
Elevation Change: 6220/6260 feet
Suited For: Walk
Difficulty: Easy
Hazards: Steep drop-offs at the trail’s end
Introduction: True to its name, the Grand View Trail offers perhaps the most all-encompassing panorama of the Canyonlands basin in the entire Park. This is a good and popular trail that follows the narrow mesa among scattered trees and shrubs, ending at a prominent slickrock point that offers a commanding vista. No special skills are required to follow this justifiably popular trail, and it offers great rewards to anyone willing to park the car and walk a short distance among awe-inspiring surroundings.
