Steamboat Trace Hiking/Biking Trail

Posted by on May 24, 2004

Discover the Steamboat Trace Region

The Steamboat Trace hiking/biking trail is your link to the cultural and natural treasures of the most historic region of Nebraska, including Brownville, Peru, and Nebraska City. The trail corridor extends approximately 21 miles from the northern trailhead, south of Nebraska City, through Peru and Brownville.  Experience the landscape where Lewis and Clark’s Corps of discovery camped and explored along the Mississippi River 200 years ago.  But don’t stop there.  Make your trip complete with a visit to at least one of the many other nearby point of interest.

Steamboat Trail

May 2004

I wish every place I visited had a trail like this.  26 miles of perfectly groomed trail constructed between Nebraska City and Brown (something), NE.  The end of the trail happens to be yet another Nuclear Plant. Small World. The pictures are from the last 10 miles….so far.  I’ll be back here sometime in June.

Here are the pics (Click on the picture to see full size):

These are low res pictures.  I can send you higher quality pictures if you want them
