Distance:                 7.8 miles round trip

Elevation Change:    4230; 3950/5760 feet

Suited For:               Dayhike or Backpack

Difficulty:                Strenuous

Hazards:                  Trail steep and/or rough in places; only seasonal water available;

                              Little Shade

Introduction:    This route is perhaps the finest short backpacking trip in the Island District.  It traces a circular route around the unusual upheaval dome and offers one designated campsite, seasonal water, and side trip opportunities…
